The importance of communication skills for success is not understood by many people. Do you know- which is the most sought skill an employer sees in his prospective employee. It is a communication skill. Yes, in today’s world it the communication skill which is most important for success. A person is recognized by his words. We can know a person when he speaks. This is the reason before employing anyone recruiter to take the interview of the prospective customer.

Let me share two examples that clearly show the importance of communication.

Example 1 For Importance of Communication: Cuckoo and crow both have the same color i.e., black. The cuckoo does not build her nest but the crow built her nest. At the time of giving birth, the female cuckoo lays her eggs in the nest of a crow. The female crow does not differentiate between her eggs and cuckoo’s eggs. The female crow takes care of all the eggs in the nest as her own. When the young one came out of eggs then also the female crow does not differentiate between her young one and the cuckoo. The female crow recognizes the cuckoo only when she speaks. Till then all look alike and all are similar.

Example 2 Importance of Communication: One day a king went to the jungle for hunting with his prime minister, warlord, and soldiers. The king was moving fast and suddenly he lost his way. When the king looked back he realized that he left behind his soldiers.  When got to know I am alone the king started searching for his men. After roaming here and there, he met with a hermit. He asked the hermit “Forgive me Baba but did you see any men searching me. The hermit replied O’ you are the king. Maharaj, I cannot see but must tell you that your soldier, your warlord, and your prime minister came to me in searching you.

The king becomes amazed and asked how you know that when you are blind. The monk replied it is the way of communication that shown their identity. First, your soldier came and he addressed me as a beggar. Second, your warlord came and he addressed me as an old man. Third-person enquired about you in a polite manner. So, he may be your prime minister. Lastly, you came.  You first apologized and then requested me. Hence, I recognized that you are the king.

Good communication empowers people for better control, quick problem-solving ability, strong decision-making, and more productivity. If you have good communication skills you can convenience anyone and you can sell your products. A leader with his words changes the minds of people. The leaders with good communication skills convenience the people and the people will cast votes for them. Salesmen with good communication skills not only succeed in selling products but they are able to sell more products to the same customer and different customer as well. The importance of communication skills can be understood with this. Hence work upon communication skills and try to improve them.
